Today I…

Write down a few things you did today.

A simple daily journal for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

A journal for what you did

Write one line or a few. Stop after three, add more if you want, or skip a day. You do not have to summarize everything that happened.

We ask only about what you already did. There are no due dates, to-do lists, goals, or streaks.

Three entries, with room for more

After you add a third entry, we give the day a settled appearance. We use the appearance change as a visual distinction, not a score or reward.

You can keep writing. We do not increase the visual effect for later entries, and we do not treat skipped days as failures.

Short notes or longer writing

You can stop after three.

You can also return in the evening or on a slow Sunday and use those notes as the starting point for longer writing. Turn one line into a paragraph, or follow an idea in a new direction.

Either way, you begin with a few things you did.

Your entries and your devices

We store your entries on your device and use your private iCloud account for sync. You can use Today I… without creating another account, and we do not send your entries to servers we operate.

On Mac, we include a small command-line tool. Run todayi add "the thing I did" from any terminal to add an entry. Run todayi fetch to read today's entries. Both commands use the same local data as the app, with no additional service or account.
